Andrew Benko Appointed President of Metso Mining and Construction Technology

As of March 1, 2011 Andrew Benko has been appointed president of Metso’s Mining and Construction Technology segment. He takes over the position recently vacated by Matti Kähkönen. Benko was previously president of the equipment and eystems business line.

Speaking of his new position, Benko said that he is excited to further Metso’s goal of driving customer success.

“I’ve worked for Metso and its predecessor companies for many years and I am very familiar with many aspects of this industry,” he says. “There are many things Metso will be doing to strengthen our business and I look forward to contributing to our continuing growth in the current demanding market situation.”

Benko was president, equipment and systems business line, mining and construction technology from 2007 to 2009; president of Metso’s mining business line and minerals processing business line from 2001 to 2006; president of minerals processing, Svedala from 1998 to 2001; and president, grinding division, Svedala 1993 to 1998.
