BLS Hightop Track Pads Keeps Contractor Working for Longer

November 25, 2009 - Midwest Edition
Construction Equipment Guide

Frank Hunt of Geneva Construction Company in Aurora, Ill., has a Roadtec RX 700-3 milling machine on which he uses BLS Poly Bolt-On TUFPADS hightop track pads on the front two tracks and the BLS Poly Bolt-On TUFPADS Blues track pads on the back track. Hunt was able to mill more than a million sq. yds. of asphalt as deep as 14 in. (35 cm) before he needed to replace his track pads.

Another benefit for Hunt is the ability to change the BLS Poly Bolt-On track pads in the field. Due to the strict regulations in the town where he was working, it was very critical that Geneva Construction not damage the existing paved road with bare steel tracks. BLS TUFPADS track pads provide protection for the surface that a machine is walking over, along with enhanced traction. Hunt changed the BLS Poly Bolt-On TUFPADS track pads right onsite and was able to walk his machine onto the company’s trailer without damaging the street.
