ATLANTA (AP) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has some badly needed medicine for Atlanta’s construction industry — two new research buildings at the agency’s campus in Chamblee.
CDC officials said each building will be approximately 10 stories, and campus parking decks also will be expanded. They say the cost of the project will be about $300 million.
The CDC said the buildings will house about 250 employees apiece and will be used to conduct research on chronic diseases and birth defects.
Another CDC construction project is already in progress at the Atlanta campus. That research support building will have 12 floors and will house more than 1,000 workers.
