Carrie Wood Paris, 80, of Avella, Pa., died on Aug. 28, 2014, in her Cross Creek Township home.
Born Jan. 31, 1934, in Waynesburg, the daughter of the late Carl L. and Nellie V. Roupe Wood, Mrs. Paris was a 1952 graduate of Washington High School and, in her youth, was employed by Bell Telephone as an operator.
Mrs. Paris was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Avella, the Avella Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Avella Area Community Association and the A.D. White Research Society of Avella.
She was an avid antique collector, who loved horses and gardening.
On Oct. 25, 1958, she married Emanuel A. Paris Jr., who died Nov. 21, 1989.
Surviving are three sons, E. Alex Paris III and his wife Valerie of Avella; Eric Paris and his wife Lisa of Cross Creek; and Tim Paris of Avella; five grandsons, Eric, Austin, Alexander, Emanuel and Santino Paris; and two sisters, Alberta Crispin of Washington and Norma South and her husband Tom of Woodsfield, Ohio.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, is an infant grandson, Elijah Paris.
