Caterpillar Corporation and its dealers serving the Illinois market pulled out the wheel chocks to welcome IAAP members for the Heavy Equipment Safety Seminar on Nov. 3 and 4 in Peoria, Ill.

The chance to operate numerous heavy equipment simulators turned out to be the event’s highlight. Representatives from Altorfer Inc., Fabick CAT and Patten Industries Inc. welcomed guests to the Caterpillar Edwards Demonstration and Learning Center.

Between safety topic sessions, Caterpillar experts took time to show a range of tasks their equipment could accomplish inside the demonstration arena. The event included a 385C excavator, a 914G wheel loader, a 740 articulated truck, 772 and 777F off-highway haul trucks, a 988H wheel loader and a D11T track-type tractor.

In addition to Caterpillar, Bridgestone and DBA-SALA had much to say about heavy equipment safety.
