Chicago Pneumatic Offers CPS 185 PD7 Portable Air Compressor

September 20, 2012 - National Edition
Construction Equipment Guide

The CPS 185 PD7 portable air compressors manufactured by Chicago Pneumatic feature a 49 hp interim Tier IV Perkins 404D-22 engine and a highly efficient, direct-drive air end that provides 185 cfm. The advantage to the direct-drive air end is that it requires less horse power to deliver the rated 185 cfm @100psi, which means that the compressor produces more air with less fuel. The working pressure on the compressor is easily adjusted from 58 up to 125 psi, according to the manufacturer.

This rotary screw compressor also features a durable galvanneal steel, powder-coated sound suppressed enclosure, and a wide-opening one-piece canopy with gas struts that allow complete access to the engine and compressor components for easy maintenance.

The CPS 185 PD7 control panel features an electric fuel gauge, air pressure gauge and a sealed hour meter. The centralized control system comes with a cold start aid and fault lights. The control circuit provides protective shutdown switches to protect your investment: Low engine oil pressure, high engine coolant temperature, high compressor oil temperature and a low fuel shut down switch. The low-fuel shutdown function prevents damage to the starter and increases the overall lifetime of the compressor.

The CPS 185 PD7 is a compact, light weight portable compressor with torsion bar suspension, 15 in. (38 cm) tires and wheels, folding towbar, rear bumper, single point lifting eye, hinged hood, tool box, recessed towing lights, lighted license plate bracket and adjustable height jack leg.
