Construction Worker Killed at Rochester Hotel Site

The man was working at the site of a hotel project Friday afternoon when a heavy attachment fell from the arm of the forklift.

ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) - Authorities say a construction worker died after a large metal attachment from a forklift fell on his head in Rochester.

The man was working at the site of a hotel project Friday afternoon when a heavy attachment fell from the arm of the forklift. The man’s name hasn’t been released pending notification of his family, but officials say he was in his 30s.

Lt. Jeff Stillwell of the Rochester Police Department tells KTTC-TV (http://bit.ly/1DIfNH4 ) that investigators believe the man suffered a head injury that led to his death.

The accident remains under investigation. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the man’s cause of death.
