Customers ’Play in the Dirt’ at Nortrax Open House

ortrax hosted its annual equipment demo and open house event on Friday, April 10th at the Chippewa Falls branch.The all-day event featured an extensive line of John Deere construction and forestry equipment. The Chippewa Falls location has an excellent pit demo site which makes it possible for customers to “play in the dirt.” Customers were able to operate John Deere’s largest production class crawler dozer, the new 1050K, as well as wheel loaders, backhoes, excavators motorgraders and ADTs. Luke Weir of Positioning Solutions held a Topcon demonstration and customers could operate a Topcon equipped Deere 850K dozer and 210G excavator. John Deere Forestry Sales Manager Carl Lockhart, Nortrax Forestry Specialist Ken Knauf, and Forestry CTL Trainer/Operator Jim Mylchreest answered forestry customer questions. John Deere Financial Representative Kevin St. John, Nortrax Environmental Health and Safety Manager Jim Larsen, and Nortrax Work Sight Solutions Consultant Eric Brosted talked with customers and guests. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation conducted a trailer inspection regulations presentation during the day and a John Deere forestry cut-to-length simulator was available for customers to try. This year a dedicated tent on the grounds featured the following sponsors and supporting vendors that helped make the event a great success: TRM Manufacturing/GEM Falls, Towmaster Trailers, Interstate Trailer Inc., Declean, Whitemore Sales, Tractor Central, B&D Fabricators, Paladin Attachments, Topcon Positioning Systems Inc., and the Wisconsin DOT.More than 500 attendees dined in the Nortrax service shop on baked fish and charcoal chicken catered by Karl Hartkemeyer, owner of Bar-B-Q Express Catering in Lake Hallie, Wis.
