EXPO ’09 Golf Tournament Benefits College Scholarship Program

Held in conjunction with Utility Construction EXPO ’09, the NUCA Foundation for Education and Research’s annual golf tournament on March 3 drew nearly 100 participants to the Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, Ariz., for an afternoon of fine weather and play at one of Golf World magazine’s top 50 resorts. All proceeds from the event go to the Foundation’s College Scholarship Program.

Golf chair Kirk Woodward announced the results of the tournament at the evening’s Caterpillar-sponsored Welcome Reception:

The top foursome included Adam Huffman, Jack Woudenberg, Kelly Woudenberg and Dana Woudenberg of Trench Shore Rentals headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz. The group won with a low-gross of 58 or 14 under-par.

Second place went to the foursome of Maynard Akkerman, David Gill, Robin Lorenzon and Rob Tumbleson, with a score of 13 under-par.

Third place was won by the foursome of Brad Finley, Larry Fortin, Rob Larsen and James Paul, with 12 under-par.

The longest drive contest was won by Paul Coppinger of Trench Shore Rentals and the closest to the pin contest by Ray Bilby of United Rentals.

This year’s golf tournament sponsors were:
