Hoffman Equipment held its annual Paving and Equipment Seminar March 20 in Marlboro, N.Y.

Manufacturers representatives from Case, LeeBoy, Rosco, and Paladin were on site to demonstrate their products for attendees.

With the Northeast emerging from yet another bad winter, Hoffman Equipment’s Paving and Equipment Seminar proved to be a must-attend event for contractors and highway departments in the region. There, they had the opportunity to see the latest equipment, available for sale or rent, in action along with having their questions answered by factory reps.

Potholes have been all over the roads and news the past few weeks and Hoffman showcased equipment to repair these. In addition to LeeBoy pavers, rollers and brooms, Hoffman presented a one-person patching machine — the Rosco RA-400 spray pothole patcher, which was put to the test for attendees. Jim Harkins, Northeast territory manager of VT LeeBoy, patched an enormous pothole in minutes.

LeeBoy was not the only manufacturer showing off the goods. Jim Fox of Case showed everyone the versatility of Case products, while reminding attendees that the technician and operator are at the heart of his company’s equipment design. “If you keep them [the operators] happy, the work will get done,” he said.

Also during the event, Hoffman Equipment raffled off numerous door prizes for attendees and provided a catered lunch.
