Wacker Neuson's intelligent control panels will be featured on its HI 1000 indirect fired air heater launching in Q2 2015.

"Our market research shows lack of system feedback about heater status is the primary cause of excessive diagnostic time," said David Mencel, product manager of Wacker Neuson Climate Technologies. "Furthermore, as products go into even more remote environments and applications grow even more demanding, the need for a more intelligent heater grows exponentially. What's on the market today simply won't meet the needs of the future. It was an easy decision to extend our new hydronic heater controller into our air heat line."

The new HI 1000 has total digital control over output temperature, and includes a 5 in. (12.7 cm) heated, backlit LCD display for simple monitoring of system status. Faults are displayed in clear English, along with instructions on how to reset the fault. An advanced diagnostic mode allows dealers to view sensor status and change heater operating parameters such as hysteresis to suit the needs of their job site. Telematics-ready technology lets you monitor the heater from the comfort of your desk, no matter where your heater is located. Warnings are even delivered as fuel level drops.

The control panel isn't the only new feature in the HI 1000: The mobile version features a new custom packaged generator with extended oil service intervals of 500 hours. Powered by a Kubota D-1005, this generator outputs 7kW continuous and has been optimized for quick access maintenance.

Compared to the HI 900, the fuel tank grew an additional 70 gal. (265 L) to a total of 190 gal. (719 L), to achieve a full 24 hour runtime on a single tank. Additionally, the company will be introducing a diesel skidded model with no fuel tank to meet the needs of those users who prefer external fuel tanks. The results is a lower profile, lightweight skidded heater with quick connects to couple to any external tank.

All models will feature a centrifugal clutch standard for easier generator starting, and an optional -40F package for extreme cold performance (this package is standard on mobile units).
