The Lady Bamford Center for Early Childhood Development hosted a Moving On ceremony on May 21. The ceremony celebrated the center’s pre-kindergarten students as they transition to kindergarten with an alphabet parade, special songs and remarks about notable student achievements.

The Lady Bamford Center was founded by JCB and named after the chairman of the company’s wife, Lady Carole Bamford. It is operated by Wesley Community Centers of Savannah to provide education and social skills development to children from six weeks to four years of age. The organization uses an interactive curriculum to prepare young children for kindergarten and elementary school. The center offers priority admission to children from homeless or low-income families, as well as children facing physical, mental or emotional challenges.

“The individualized support that students receive while attending the Lady Bamford Center prepares them both academically and personally for a successful, positive future,” said Thom Peebles, vice president of marketing of JCB North America. “We’re proud to be associated with this remarkable organization, and we appreciate its ongoing efforts to promote the economic and educational growth of children in the Savannah area.”

The Lady Bamford Center is an approved Georgia pre-kindergarten site and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), a prestigious recognition received by fewer than eight percent of all early childhood organizations in the United States.
