At the 2013 Northeastern Forest Products Equipment Expo, in Bangor, Maine, the equipment was meticulously cleaned. From wheels to cab, from tracks to roof, the machines had been detailed for hours to get them in perfect shape for the show. And they stayed that way.

Excluding one machine at the Chadwick-BaRoss booth. Yes, it was prepared with the same care as the others. And yes, it was once shining from counterweight to processor head. But when the show started on May 17, the glossy gleam was quickly replaced with a different kind of shine.

That’s because during Chadwick-BaRoss’ “Make Your Mark” event, children were encouraged to “make their mark” by painting, drawing and placing handprints on a Volvo EC210 CL.

To Chadwick-BaRoss’ Marketing Manager, Jacob Adams, involvement in the community is exceedingly valuable.

“When we contribute locally the results are visible, not only to the company, but to the community as well. Whether it is assisting a nearby school with training, supporting local emergency departments or rushing a critical piece of machinery to a job site, our service doesn’t stop at the door.”

Donations were encouraged but not necessary. Ages of mark makers ranged from 1 to 70. The proceeds from the event went to Log A Load for Kids and The Children’s Miracle Network. The total donation to the two charities was matched by Chadwick-BaRoss.
