Chris Carmolingo, executive vice president of Trico Lift, a full service aerial lift company, recently announced the following appointments. These positions all report to Carmolingo.

Pat Schmetzer of Guilford, Ind., is now the company’s vice president of operations. In this newly created position, Schmetzer is responsible for Trico Lift’s daily operations and delivery of all parts and services at the company’s six branches in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland and Virginia. In addition, the new operations vice president also oversees the company’s repair, maintenance and inspection services provided to outside companies and private aerial equipment owners.

He served most recently as general sales manager of Bobcat Enterprises Inc. and worked for the Trico organization previously as a sales and training manager in Ohio.

Steve Phillips of New Carlisle, Ohio, was promoted to vice president of safety. Phillips is a former senior manager of Halliburton/KBR, one of the world’s largest providers of services, equipment, maintenance, engineering and construction to governmental customers worldwide, and for several global companies. He is responsible for Trico Lift’s complete risk identification and prevention efforts.

A complete host of internal and external training sessions, guided by OSHA and American National Standard Institute (ANSI) standards, as well as many compliant audit and inspection services are part of Trico’s featured safety services.

Under Phillips’s direction, the company continues to receive public and industry recognition for performing more than 12 consecutive months without a lost time or recordable incident.

Phillips is an active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and chairs the ANSI’s Documentation Committee for Elevated Work Platforms.

Andrew M. Volponi of Medford, N.J., is now Trico Lift’s vice president of logistics. Volponi a 12-year company veteran, was formerly vice president responsible for operations and services of the company’s fleet of nearly 3,000 aerial lifts. He will now direct the company’s expanded equipment life extension program at its fleet maintenance center in Millville, N.J., and all central dispatching services involving rentals, field service and transportation.

Volponi is a member of the New Jersey Motor Truck Association and the Utility and Transportation Contractors Association.
