The Northwest Iowa Community College Heavy Equipment Program hosted Heavy Equipment High School Days at the Titan Machinery dealership in Sioux City, Iowa, on April 15 and 16.

NCC Instructor Roger Solberg led four sessions with 36 high school students in attendance from Hinton, Lawton-Bronson, Remsen St. Mary’s, Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Westwood (Sloan) and Whiting. Ron Hall, vice president and Midwest general manager of Knife River, shared the industry outlook and need for skilled workers in the heavy equipment and construction fields. Students also had the opportunity to operate three pieces of new equipment on site provided by Titan.
