June 5, 2010 - Midwest Edition
Construction Equipment Guide

Plote Construction took a big step toward creating a “greener” environment for the future as it partnered with Patten CAT on a project to upgrade three of its older pieces of heavy machinery.

The project, which received aid from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, resulted in a 50-percent reduction in NOX emissions and a 54-percent reduction in particle matter from each machine. The partnership also kept 10 technicians from Patten CAT employed during the four-month upgrading process.

The joint project was celebrated with a June 2 unveiling and return of the three Cat 980G wheel loaders to Plote Construction’s main building in Hoffman Estates, Ill.
