The Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) held its annual convention and CONDEX in San Antonio Jan. 20 to 22. Attendees enjoyed the hospitality of the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter Hotel for accommodations, open suites for use during the event and social events. The Henry B. González Convention Center hosted CONDEX as well as a number of conferences, meetings and catered meals for attendees.

Michael Marks, moderator of AED Summit 2010, was the event’s host, presiding over all the convention activities throughout the three days.

In an effort to draw Congress’s attention to the economic consequences that failure to renew the federal highway program will cause for Texas as well as the rest of the United States, a rally was held on the first day of the convention. “Start Us Up USA!” was sponsored jointly by AED and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. The rally was followed by a caravan of trucks carrying unused construction equipment draped in banners winding its way through the streets of San Antonio, representing the large amount of jobs lost and equipment left idle by the industry depression.
