Skanska, a leading provider of construction and construction management services, announced it has made a $50,000 monetary donation to the United Nations to be used for its disaster relief efforts in Haiti.

The United Nations, through the United Nations Foundation, the Central Emergency Response Fund and other U.N.-affiliated organizations, is utilizing donations to provide rapid response and relief to victims of the earthquake in Haiti.

“We are glad that Skanska’s worldwide organization was able to quickly put this donation together,” said Mike McNally, president and CEO of Skanska USA.

“We know that this donation can only do so much in an area where the need is so great, but we know that if every company of our size does this, perhaps it ends up making a great difference,” McNally added.

Donations to support the U.N.’s relief effort can be made at www.un.org.
