The Keystone Chapter, Associated Builders & Contractors Inc. (ABC), in an effort to maximize its resources and more assertively advance its mission, recently launched its new Strategic Plan.

"This plan will drive us into the future and provide guidelines for consistent, logical rationale for governance in succeeding years," said 2001 Chapter President Todd M. Witmer of Witmer & McCoy Inc., a masonry firm in Mount Joy. "We’re confident that by following this plan, we’ll improve upon many areas of the association to become a more valuable resource for our 700 plus members and the local communities."

The purpose of this Strategic Plan is to anticipate the Chapter’s role in offering service to its members in the future and position it to offer programs and services that support and enhance member firms’ ability to sustain future growth and success. Three main goals for the Chapter were established based on these objectives:

--Goal One: Education and Training;

--Goal Two: Customer Service; and

--Goal Three: Image and Voice for the Free Enterprise Philosophy.

Several internal committees were realigned accordingly to serve these goals.

Keystone Chapter enlisted the help of Raleigh, North Carolina-based FMI, management consultants to the construction industry, to aid them in creating this new document.

"We’re pleased with the work FMI did to get us where we are today," said Bradford Clubb of Flyway Excavating Inc., 2002 chairman of the board of the Keystone Chapter. "We’re hoping to see tremendous improvement to an already top-notch organization."
