Construction Equipment Guide

Atlas Copco Construction Tools LLC’s CC 1700 hydraulic demolition attachment provides 220 tons (199 t) of cutting force at the jaw tip.

The CC 1700 features a single pin jaw retention design that improves tool visibility for the operator, decreases the total weight of the unit, and drastically reduces the amount of time required to switch between sets of cutting jaws, according to the manufacturer.

To further increase the convenience of on-site jaw replacement, the CC 1700 comes with a new coupling and positioning system (CAPS) that keeps each set of jaws connected after they have been removed and facilitates refitting through a special guide system.

For optimum versatility, both universal jaws and steel cutting jaws are available for the CC 1700. Opening 29.5 in. (75 cm) wide, the universal jaws are ideal for building demolition, industrial demolition, secondary reduction and material separation.

The steel cutting jaws open 15.2 in. (38.6 cm) wide and are ideal for steel structure demolition, secondary reduction and material separation.

An advanced speed valve on the CC 1700 allows shorter cycle times for increased production on the job site, while the configuration of a single jaw passing through a double jaw maximizes stability even under extreme loads. With a maximum operating pressure of 5,100 psi (352 bar), the attachment is suitable for carriers in the 16.5 to 27.5 ton (15 to 25 t) weight class.

The CC 1700 offers separate hydraulic cylinders for each of the moving jaws. This system ensures consistently high shearing force throughout the entire cylinder cycle and allows the jaws to be moved independently, which prevents damaging reaction forces from being transferred to the cutter or its carrier, according to the manufacturer.

The unit hydraulically rotates a full 360 degrees, allowing for more efficient operation, and a built-in rotation protection system reduces wear and tear on the carrier.

The CC 1700 comes with easy-to-replace wear parts and a host of other features designed to increase the durability and performance of the machine. Enlarged cross sections of the hydraulic lines allows improved oil flow to significantly shorten jaw opening and closing times, and reversible blades provide longer service life.
