Ritchie Bros. Auctions Are Known Throughout the World

Ritchie Bros. is the world’s largest industrial auctioneer, with 38 auction sites worldwide. With offices in Vancouver, BC; Lincoln, NE and Breda, the Netherlands, Ritchie Bros. can easily serve the equipment needs of the North American, European, Middle Eastern, Asian and Australian marketplaces. Nearly 100,000 buyers purchased $3.9 billion in heavy equipment at Ritchie Bros. auctions in 2012 alone.

More Than a Half Century of Auctioneering Experience

The first Ritchie Bros. auction dates back to 1958 when brothers Ken, Dave and John Ritchie auctioned off items from their Kelowna, BC furniture store to cover a debt. Five years later, the brothers made their initial foray into the industrial market, auctioning $600,000 in equipment.

In the ensuing decades, the company expanded its operations across North America and eventually, overseas. All the while, Ritchie Bros. has adhered to its core operating philosophy of staging fair and transparent auctions that benefit buyers and sellers alike.

In-Person and Online Bidding at Ritchie Bros. Auctions

In the age of the Internet, a Ritchie Bros. auction now offers the opportunity to bid online as well as at the physical auction site. All Ritchie Bros. auctions are unreserved, meaning there are no minimum bid requirements or reserve prices; buyers have total control over the price of every item up for bid instead of the sellers. Both buyers and sellers benefit from Ritchie Bros.’ commitment to serving all their needs.

Why Choose a Ritchie Bros. Auction?

For equipment buyers, Ritchie Bros. auctions provide access to thousands of top-quality machines at affordable prices and a transparent bidding process. Sellers get the benefit of an extensive global reach that significantly increases the likelihood of locating an interested buyer who is ready to make a financial commitment.
