G.E. (Jerry) Randecker has been appointed president of Bomag Americas Inc., effective Oct. 1, 2006.
Randecker succeeds Charles M. (Mike) Simpkins, who is retiring after more than 15 years with the company.
As president of Bomag Americas, Randecker will be responsible for operations in Kewanee, Ill., Warrensburg, Mo. and Mississauga, Ontario.
“Over the years, we’ve worked hard to maintain and grow Bomag’s position as a leading provider of compaction, paving and milling equipment,” said Simpkins. “Given Mr. Randecker’s industry experience and business acumen, I believe he is the natural choice to assume the role of president and continue the company’s positive course.”
Randecker previously served as president of Spencer Fluid Power, a supplier of hydraulic components and systems based in Kent, Wash.
Before Spencer, Randecker served as president and chief executive officer of Construction Machinery Inc., a heavy construction equipment distributor based in Anchorage, Alaska; and Hitachi Construction Machinery (America), based in Houston.
Simpkins joined Bomag Americas in 1991.
He served as senior vice president of marketing and sales for North and South America from 1992 to 1999. He was then appointed president in October of 1999.
