Case Unveils G Series Wheel Loaders at Tomahawk Facility
The all-new G Series wheel loader line consists of seven new models scaled for a variety of applications.

Case Construction Equipment unveiled its new G series wheel loader to the press at its 500-plus acre Case Tomahawk Experience Center located in Tomahawk, Wis. The unveiling kicked off with a presentation by Andrew Dargatz, brand marketing manager, wheel loaders, Case Construction Equipment.

Our groups work together as a cohesive team to ensure that the G Series wheel loaders lowers the total cost of ownership.”
The all-new G Series wheel loader line consists of seven new models scaled for a variety of applications, from supply yards, building construction and agriculture, to quarries and mass excavation. These loaders address key factors to lower the total cost of ownership.
Productivity and Efficiency
“Wheel loaders are the ultimate production machines, said Dargatz. “Whether they are running 12 or 14 hours a day in batch plants, pits and quarries, loading trucks at feed lots all day at corporate dairy farms or keeping us safe, running all day and all night in the coldest of conditions plowing streets and parking lots.”
With this in mind, Case designed the G Series wheel loader FPT engines that feature SCR technology to meet Tier IV Final standards. Case was the first to introduce SCR into heavy construction equipment and has the industry's most practical SCR experience in the field, according to the manufacturer. Each loader leverages the best in hydraulic and electronic technologies to fully optimize machine output and performance, providing a comprehensive solution that achieves exponential fuel savings compared to the competition and older equipment. These systems combine to provide the operator with a choice of four operating modes that best match engine output to application, ensuring the machine only expends as much fuel and power as required for the job.
SCR also allows the engine to breathe cooler and cleaner, ensuring optimal productivity and helping to minimize wear associated with excessive heat and the possibility of thermal events. As an aftertreatment system, there is no recirculation of gasses, no excessive exhaust temperatures related to burning off captured particulate matter and no downtime for regeneration. With the exception of adding diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), there are no new or intensive maintenance activities required of the system. This all results in a greater percentage of the machine's power and fuel burn going to productive efforts, according to Case.
Overall Quality of Operation
The G Series wheel loaders feature the most intuitive, comfortable and easy to operate/manage environment of any Case wheel loader ever produced. Inspired heavily by automotive design, the new cab features the latest in electro-hydraulic controls, ergonomic design and operator interfaces that make operation simpler and more efficient. This includes a solid-state controller that provides software control over electrical power distribution and basic vehicle functions — all while eliminating fuses and relays, and significantly lowering the amount of wiring throughout the machine. A membrane keypad replaces a series of rocker switches for common machine functions, and a new steering console mimics the driver controls — from lights and wipers to turn signals — found in most cars/trucks, according to Case.
“The G Series leverages ergonomics to improve operator comfort, combat operator fatigue and overall increases the operator's efficiency and productivity and provides the intuitive practical technology that allows the operator to quickly climb in the cab understand all the benefits and resources at their disposal, ” said Dargatz.
A new, one-piece rounded windshield, a rear grid defroster and redesigned external mirrors increase visibility to all sides of the machine. These loaders also feature an all-new HVAC system that achieves the fastcab cool-down, and excellent heating/defrosting/defogging capabilities.
The operator environment is further accentuated with new automotive-style plastics on the inside that are more durable and resistant to scratches, and easier to clean. A new Bluetooth radio with full streaming, satellite radio (with optional equipment) and music device compatibility also is available to enhance the operator experience.
Total Cost of Ownership
Every system in the new G Series wheel loaders is engineered together to help produce the greatest amount of production, at the highest rate of uptime, for the lowest total cost of operation. Much of this is achieved with the efficiencies of the engine and related systems, the intuitiveness of the operator environment and the ease of service, according to the manufacturer.
“Maintenance is a key factor of the total equation. Over three years ago, Case led the way when they introduced ProCare,” said Dargatz. “ProCare is a comprehensive program that addresses maintenance, warranty and telematics. It embodies our commitment to our customers to lower total cost of ownership.”
ProCare includes a three-year Advanced Case SiteWatch telematics subscription, a three-year/3,000-hour full-machine factory warranty and a three-year/3,000-hour planned maintenance contract.
