Caterpillar, or simply “Cat” as millions of construction professionals around the world call the iconic equipment manufacturer, was formed through a merger of Holt Manufacturing Company and C.L. Best Tractor Company in 1925. Today, Caterpillar manufacturers its distinctive yellow and black iron in 110 facilities around the world, with 51 of those plants based in the United States.
