Congressional Leaders to Discuss Highway Trust Fund Fix & Infrastructure Package May 17
TCC members will head to Capitol Hill May 18 to discuss the HTF along with the many impacts that could result from a new major transportation infrastructure investment plan.
📅 Fri May 12, 2017 - National Edition
Senate Environment & Public Works Committee Chairman John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-Pa.), Ranking House T & I Committee Member Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.), and House Ways and Means Committee Member Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) will address more than 500 transportation design and construction executives, and labor union officials May 17 during the annual Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) Washington Fly-in. They are expected to discuss highway and transit investment policy issues and possible timing for a new Trump administration infrastructure package.
The theme of this year's fly-in is focused on pushing members of Congress to provide a permanent solution for the Highway Trust Fund's (HTC) revenue shortfall. The TCC will begin running a new print ad next week in Capitol Hill publications calling on Congress to fix the HTF as part of tax reform. View the new ad.
