FAE USA Inc. held an open house, conference and demo day at its North American headquarters in Flowery Branch, Ga., May 9. A morning press conference started the event and was designed to showcase the newest products and services offered by FAE. Attendees were provided the opportunity to see the inner workings of the FAE USA headquarters and the products, parts and services within the facility. A southern style BBQ was served and attendees were transported to a demo spot in nearby Gainesville, Ga. Nearly the entire line of FAE and PrimeTech products were demonstrated in a working environment.

Local dignitaries on hand for the day’s events included: Stan Brown, city manager of the city of Oakwood, Ga.; Shelley Davis, vice president-existing industry of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce; Lamar Scroggs, Mayor of the city of Oakwood, Ga.; and Alex Mussa, assistant trade commissioner, Italian Trade Commission, Atlanta, Ga.

The new FAE UML/SSL 150 VT mulcher head was unveiled to the crowd at the FAE USA headquarters facility.

“The good thing about this new skid steer head is that we did a lot of upgrades from the previous model, but the retail price remains the same. So…the good news, we’ve put a lot of money into development and we kept the price the same,” said company CEO, Giorgio Carera.

Tom King, president and CEO of Supertrak, based in Punta Gorda, Fla., and Dave Evans, Supertrak in Cameron, N.C., displayed the Supertrak 140RTL, a 4-wheel articulated custom built mulcher. The mulcher offers 140 hp (104 kW), 125 hydraulic hp (93 kW) to the head and a 4-wheel articulated machine. This Supertrak machine uses the FAE STC SSL 150 stone crusher. The machine comes as a total package or as an attachment.

“The customers like them. The product pretty much speaks for itself and the quality is outstanding. What’s even better is the service that FAE provides after the sale. Parts availability is excellent and makes for happy customers. It’s been a great addition to our product line. It expands on the skid steer lines that we carry. We also include these in our rental fleet, which is something that a lot of companies won’t do. We’re confident enough in the FAE head that it can go out and take the abuse that some of the rental customers are going to put on it. Not only will we rent one of our machines with a mulching unit, we’ll also rent the mulcher separately, which is something that is pretty much unheard of in our industry,” said Allen Tennis of Custom Truck & Equipment, Kansas City, Mo.

“I’ll be selling the full line of FAE and Prime-Tech products in all of California, Nevada and Arizona. Our company specialty is in forestry and mastication products, and the FAE products are a good complement to our existing lines. We’ve really only dealt with them in the forestry applications, but we’re excited to now get into the road maintenance units,” said John DalBianco of F5 Equipment based in Stockton, Calif.,

Contractors had a chance to feature their companies’ services, and use of FAE USA?products. Josh Davis of Davis Contracting & Excavating based in Naugatuck, W.Va., provided demonstrations on his company’s clay transformation process. Clay is turned into shale rock in a matter of 72 hours, a process that takes millions of years to occur in nature. By mixing precise amounts of water and Perma-Zyme (a natural organic solution for soil stabilization) with clay and dirt using an FAE RSM road stabilizer and rock crusher, roads are created. In addition the process can be used for road maintenance.
