To help those in need, Hawthorne Cat has teamed with the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and San Diego State University Athletics to collect needed food items for the San Diego community.

“Getting more food donated to the Food Bank will be critical this year with demand continuing to soar” CEO of Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, J. Scofield “Scody” Hage said.

“We are currently feeding more people than ever before in the Food Bank’s 35-year history. But it is due to the help of supporters like Hawthorne Cat that we are able to meet the increased need. We would encourage the community to support Hawthorne Cat’s food drive and donate non-perishable food items for people in need in our community,” added Hage.

“Our goal is to raise over one ton of food. To encourage community members to join our effort, we are providing complimentary tickets to an upcoming Aztecs game for donating much needed food items to the San Diego Food Bank,” Hawthorne Cat’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, David Ness said.

“Community members can bring food to any of our locations and drop off their items in the designated red bins. For every five items of food donated, Hawthorne Cat will provide a complimentary ticket for the October 27th football game [SDSU Aztecs vs. UNLV Rebels],” adds Steve Dunn, corporate marketing director.

“We are honored to be affiliated with the San Diego Food Bank and proud to be a sponsor of San Diego State Athletics. Please help us score a few touchdowns for those in need and donate your food items today,” David Ness said.

Hawthorne Cat will be accepting food donations starting Thursday, Sept. 13 through Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, during normal business hours.

Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis. Supplies are limited. Visit http://www.hawthornecat.com/sdsufooddrive or call 800/437-4228 for complete details of the food drive including drop-off locations.
