Construction Equipment Guide

Hoss Equipment Company, a leading independent global distributor of new and used heavy construction and mining equipment, recently hosted the monthly meeting of the North Dallas Chapter of the Association of Equipment Maintenance Professionals (AEMP at its Irving, TX, headquarters. The event included presentations on FleetEdge asset management and SiteWatch job-site security technologies, two high-tech management systems represented by Hoss Equipment Company.

North Texas chapter members learned that the FleetEdge onboard system and monitoring service uses the latest technology and reporting capabilities to deliver equipment management expertise that can lower the owning and operating cost of their equipment. By implementing FleetEdge across an entire fleet, equipment managers can optimize fleet size, reduce fleet overhead and reduce repair costs. All this is achieved through more effective preventive maintenance programs and reduced labor costs. Improved scheduling from greater equipment uptime also is a reality using the FleetEdge system.

The overall fixed location and remote job-site monitoring capabilities of the SiteWatch Camera Tower also were introduced to chapter members. This easy-to-use, quick-to-deploy surveillance solution has been jointly developed by Remote Monitoring Technologies and Hoss Equipment. It will enable government, business and industry to network and monitor remote job sites and locations via wireless Ethernet technology locally or from anywhere in the world via the Internet.

The flagship system combines a portable wireless 802.11b dual access point with voiceover IP capability (VOIP), an onboard PC-DVR and Ethernet-based video surveillance system with Siren/Strobe alerts, a powerful metal-halide lighting system and diesel engine-powered electric generator into one convenient package.
