Indeco Compactors Make Quick Change

Wed April 12, 2000 - Northeast Edition
Construction Equipment Guide

Indeco has introduced a new, full line of boom-mounted plate compactors designed to fit mini excavators, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders and excavators from 4,082 to 68,039 kilograms (9,000 to 150,000 lbs.). These high force compactors are designed so that they can be switched quickly and easily with buckets and other attachments on site.

Indeco plate compactors produce the high densities required for foundations and footings and work well in pipe trenches, up close to obstacles and in other confined-area applications. They eliminate the need for separate walk-behind rollers and work faster than traditional hand-held plate compactors saving contractors time, labor and money.

Field-proven and extremely reliable eccentric weight systems driven by the right size hydraulic motors reach density fast in granular and semi-cohesive soil applications. Heavy-duty compaction plates from 30 centimeters by 58 centimeters to 89 centimeters by 94 centimeters (11.75 by 23 in. to 35 by 37 in.) transmit high forces at high vibration frequencies up to 3,000 vpm to consolidate materials while providing a smooth surface finish.

The IHC-200 develops 18,144 kilograms (40,000 lbs.) of force in high amplitude and 9,525 kilograms (21,000 lbs.) in low. Indeco features oil-bath lubrication and oversized bearings, similar to those used in larger vibratory rollers to protect eccentric bearings from wear and tear.

Heavy-duty rubber shock absorbers located between the carrier coupling plates and the vibration motor housing direct vibrating forces down into the material. This design feature isolates both the carrier components and the operator from potentially damaging forces.
