Johnson Machinery, the Caterpillar dealer for Riverside and San Bernardino counties in California, has hired Joel Robinett as the general manager of Johnson Rental Services.

Robinett brings 14 years of experience in the rental industry and will be responsible for the operations of five Johnson Rental Services locations in Riverside, Fontana, Indio, Temecula and Victorville, Calif.

“I look forward to continuing to build on Johnson’s great reputation, and being known for ease of doing business and excellent customer service,” Robinett commented.

Robinett started in the business field, but quickly decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and begin working in concrete. Shortly thereafter, he began working in the equipment rental industry, at Neff and Hertz. Robinett held positions as a rental coordinator; a management associate, recruiting new employees and opening new facilities; a field representative; and a branch manager. Robinett joined the Caterpillar family two years ago as the general manager of rental services at the Caterpillar dealer in San Diego.

“Joel is a welcome addition to our diverse team at Johnson Machinery. We are looking forward to working with him and building up our rental division to better serve the needs of our customers,” said Matt Merickel, vice president and general manager of Johnson Machinery.

Johnson Machinery has served the Inland Empire since 1940. As Caterpillar’s only platinum level dealer, it offers sales, parts and service, rentals and emissions solutions.
