After presenting the first electric version of the eFAT 325 travel drive at Agritechnica 2015, Liebherr has further invested in the development of electric travel drives. The portfolio has therefore been expanded to include three further gearbox sizes in a series-production range of electric travel drives.

The new range includes four different gearbox sizes: from eFAT325 to eFAT500. The special gearbox design enables even load distribution across the individual stages, thereby ensuring high power density. The convection-cooled, short-time submersible permanent magnet motor with IP67 protection achieves performance specs of 7.9kW to 50.8kW in one hour of continuous operation.

The range as a whole is distinguished by high torque in a compact construction thanks to the permanent magnet technology. The latter enables tailor-made placement of the drivetrain in the cramped conditions of the machine. Which eFAT to choose depends on the maximum required traction force of the machine, ranging from 186kN to 559kN.

System Solutions

Due to its broad practical know-how, the electric travel drives can be ideally incorporated in an electric travel drive system using Liebherr drive and control technology as well as switchgear, according to the manufacturer. Since the design and supply stem from a single source, the customer gets an optimally-matched system.

Electric travel drive systems from Liebherr can be configured and/or modified according to the customer application based on standard components. The systems offer a convincing and reliable solution for charge weights of 20 to 100 tonnes, and are designed for maximum travel speeds of 1.5 - 2.2 kph. Typical applications include crushers, screening plants, compact bucket excavators and undercarriages for other mobile machinery.
