Construction Equipment Guide

LiuGong’s 612HIII single-drum vibratory roller has a working width of 84 in. (213 cm), designed for wider lane paving and readily competes in the 13 to 16.5 ton (12 to 15 t) class of asphalt compactors weighing in at 28,665 lbs. (13,002 kg) with bolt on sheep’s foot shell. A powerful Cummins QSB4.5 Tier III engine provides the 612HIII with 155 gross hp (115.5 kW) and will push this production-size vibratory roller to a max travel speed of 7.83 mph (12.6 kmh). For optimal control of speed during compaction, the 612HIII offers four travel speeds.

With a hefty 301.27 pounds per linear inch (PLI) compactive force, LiuGong’s 612HIII drum roller provides ideal results when compacting road building materials. Its powerful dual hydrostatic drive ensures maximum power to the ground for tough job conditions and the 612HIII’s max gradability of 48/45 percent (without/with vibration) allows stable roadside compaction for projects such as highway road bases and medians, according to the manufacturer.

The streamlined 612HIII standard enclosed cab is pressurized and includes three stages of shock isolation, reducing the operator’s exposure to excess debris, vibration and noise pollution. Fan noise is reduced using a labyrinth-type air inlet system through standard side-by-side, easy to clean coolers. Air-conditioning, an adjustable suspension seat and hydrostatic steering are standard and hydrostatic articulated steering and single lever travel and vibration control provides the operator with a comfortable work environment for more productive days.

The 612HIII’s engine cab tilts up for easy daily maintenance and service, allowing ready access to all inner components. The standard dual amplitude and frequency compaction force adjusts to varying ground conditions for maximum compaction performance.

Safety features on LiuGong’s 612HIII vibratory roller include a back-up alarm, rotating beacon and in the event of a breakdown, the 612HIII features an emergency mode that allows towing away from the right of way. Available options for the 612HIII single drum vibratory roller include a padfoot drum shell kit and a smooth drum.
