Nearly 4,000 Bidders Participate in Ritchie Bros. Auction

The recent Ritchie Bros. auction held at its North East, Md., facility drew hundreds of onsite bidders. The auction ramp was filled with nearly 50 tri-axle dump trucks, including Mack, International, Western Star and other manufacturers. The virtual ramp grandstands were packed with bidders. Mark Snyder (L) and Mark Snyder Jr., both owners of Snyder Landscaping in Bernville, Pa., are ready for the rain and the auction. Approximately 3,800 bidders participated online and in person at Ritchie Bros.' multi-million dollar unreserved public equipment auction in North East, Md., on March 28, 2017.

With bidders from 48 countries, approximately 82 percent of the equipment in the auction was sold to out-of-state buyers, from as far away as Malaysia, Australia and South Africa. Online bidders purchased approximately 47 percent of the equipment sold (by dollar value).

More than 3,100 equipment items and trucks were sold in the auction, including more than:

• 105 excavators,

• 105 compactors,

• 50 skid steers,

• 45 loader backhoes,

• 30 loaders,

• 10 dozers,

• 80 dump trucks,

• 105 aerial work platforms, and

• 155 truck tractors.— CEG
