FlaglerCE Holdings, Orlando, Fla., the parent company of Flagler Construction Equipment, a Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) dealer since 2004, has acquired Penn-Jersey Machinery, a Volvo CE-owned dealer based in Lionville, Pa.
It’s not every company that can boast having NASA and Mickey Mouse among its customers.
But then again, Hubbard Construction Company isn’t just any company. Since 1920 it has grown into the largest heavy civil construction company in Florida, culminating in revenues of more than $300 million last year, according to Volvo Spirit magazine.
When designing Flagler Construction Equipment’s newest location in Ft. Myers, Fla., its owners looked at dealerships across North America.
The extensive study of equipment and automobile dealers resulted in a list of features that were incorporated into the new facility.

• The Golden Broom Award (award for the cleanest branch shop) — Jacksonville
• Branch Manager of the Year — Dean Bengford, Ft.
Flagler Construction Equipment’s sales force got to freshen up their knowledge of the Volvo compact equipment line Jan. 23 and 25 at a training session in Tampa, Fla.

In its first divestiture of LB Smith North America territories, Volvo Construction Equipment (CE) sold its Florida marketing area, with the exception of Tallahassee, to Flagler Construction Equipment (CE), a newly formed company that began operating the former LB Smith branches in Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa on May 1.
