With the acquisition, PT&E becomes an authorized dealer for Massey Ferguson tractors and farm implements.

Through a recent acquisition, Parman Tractor and Equipment (PT&E) has expanded its reach by acquiring Cleburne Farm Supply, located south of the Music City in Columbia, Tenn.

This is the second dealership location for PT&E, which is a subsidiary of Parman Holdings of Nashville.

"We have a good construction business portfolio on the north side of Nashville, but to better serve our customers south of the city, we needed to expand geographically," said Colin Hockenberger, PT&E's general manager. "With our new location in Columbia, we are positioned to provide convenient equipment rental options as well as enhanced service, sales and parts support in the area.

"Primarily, we are looking at the construction, tree care and agricultural side of things in this market."

With the acquisition, PT&E becomes an authorized dealer for Massey Ferguson tractors and farm implements as well as AGCO parts, Hockenberger said.

In addition, PT&E has plans to fully incorporate its existing lineup of Takeuchi mini-excavators and track loaders and its lines of Link-Belt excavators, Sakai rollers and Epiroc hammers in Columbia.

When asked what other benefits his dealership brings to the Columbia marketplace, he said, "As an employee-owned company, Parman focuses on totally outrageous customer service. Being a small company, we can offer more of a family feel than you would find from a major corporation."

Adding the Massey Ferguson brand to its compliment of construction equipment offerings feels like a great fit for PT&E, Hockenberger added.

"We have customers in construction who also do work on the agricultural side," he said. "We also have ag customers who utilize our Takeuchi track loaders and mini-excavators for their personal farms and forestry work."

Hockenberger characterized the acquisition of Cleburne as a "big step" for PT&E and looks forward to the many opportunities it presents.

"This is exciting for our employee-owners because any time you add a new location, there are new challenges in terms of scaling and organization," he said. "This is our second acquisition, but the first that involves a new location and facility. PT&E purchased Wilder Pump and Equipment in 2022 but did so by utilizing space at the Nashville dealership location. Adding a second location brings challenges, but also new growth opportunities with an expanding area."

Parman Tractor & Equipment's new location in Columbia, Tenn., is located at 1485 Bear Creek Pike/U.S. Highway 412, just west of Interstate 65.
