Rosco Spreadpro Cab Rolls Out With Clear Visibility

Construction Equipment Guide

Built with a variable-width hopper, ClearView enclosed cab and ergonomic controls, Rosco’s Spreadpro chipspreader is one of the most advanced units available.

Introducing the exclusive variable-width aggregate hopper, the Spreadpro chipspreader’s hopper is continuously expandable up to 4.9 meters (16 ft.), allowing the operator to change the spread width during operation. This feature is valuable when encountering road obstacles and variances such as bridges, corners, guard rails and ramps. Inside the expandable hoppers, the spread width is controllable in .3-meter (1 ft.) increments.

The exclusive ClearView cab design and placement provides the Spreadpro operator with enhanced visibility. Most chipspreaders position the operator cabs toward the rear of the vehicle, significantly reducing work-surface visibility. The Spreadpro’s cab is positioned in the front of the vehicle, allowing the operator to clearly see the work surface and potential obstacles.

Though the cab is high enough for the user to view all aft operations, the unit includes eyes-forward mirrors for safe and simple monitoring of aggregate delivery and flow. Offering a pressurized, controlled climate and operator protection from asphalt fumes, silica dust and the elements, the Spreadpro is a chipspreader with an enclosed cab.

To maximize operator effectiveness, the Spreadpro includes an ergonomic cab control. The operator controls all chipspreader movement and function with a steering wheel and easy-to-use joystick, instead of numerous buttons and switches found with traditional units. Cab monitors indicate if more or less aggregate is needed, how much aggregate is being metered onto the work surface and other operation parameters. Combined with the variable-width hopper and enhanced visibility, Spreadpro operation is a simplified and more cost-effective process. While most chipspreaders require a crew of workers to help control, monitor and direct operation, the Spreadpro can be efficiently operated by one person.

Including a microprocessor control that meters the amount of aggregate applied, the Spreadpro offers exact aggregate delivery with every application. The unit automatically compensates for operational factors, always dispensing the correct amount of aggregate. This further maximizes the product’s efficiency and simplicity of operation.

Other innovative features includes an automatic release/re-attach hitch, hydraulically-controlled hopper lifting wings and optional four-wheel drive.
