There are two new large cold mills from Wirtgen America Inc. — the W 200 and W 210 asphalt cold milling machines
The new W 200 is a large but compact milling machine that can be equipped with milling drum assemblies of 59 in. (150 cm), 79 in. (200 cm), or 87 in. (221 cm) working width. Three selectable engine speeds enable a broad range of applications, such as large-scale surface course rehabilitation, complete pavement removal at full depth, fine milling, and many others. It has a milling depth of 0 to 13 in. (0 to 33 cm) and is powered by a single engine generating 550 hp (410 kW). Its operating weight is 59,934 lbs. (27,185 kg) with half-full water tank, half-full fuel tank, a 165-lb. driver, and tools.
Like the W 200, the new W 210 is a large but compact milling machine, which can be equipped with milling drum assemblies of 59, 79, or 87 in. working width. But unlike the W 200, the W 210 boasts a fuel-saving drive concept utilizing two diesel engines, generating a total 671 hp (500 kW) with both engines engaged. Like the W 200, it features three selectable engine speeds, which enable a broad range of applications. Its operating weight is 62,138 lbs. (28,185 kg).
The W 200 and W 210 incorporate a number of innovative new technologies for cold mills.
Their Parallel-to-Surface (PTS) technology automatically keeps the cutter housing level as the W 200 and W 210 move into a cut, accelerating production, and their “smart” WIDRIVE technology offers new microprocessor-controlled enhancements to machine control systems, tying all main functions to a single source to manage fuel costs, tooth costs and other variables.
