Komatsu D375A-6 Dozer Has More Horsepower, Optimized Blade Profile

The D375A-6 has increased net engine output by 85 to 610 hp (63.4 to 455 kW) at 1,800 rpm.

Komatsu America Corp.’s D375A-6 crawler dozer was developed with extensive customer input. Utilizing this valuable customer feedback, the D375A-6 includes technological enhancements designed to enhance productivity in mining and heavy construction applications. Powered by a Komatsu SAA6D170E-5 engine, the dozer has an operating weight of 157,940 lbs. (71,640 kg). The D375A-6 delivers 636 Gross hp (474 kW) at 1,800 rpm while maintaining high fuel efficiency and meeting all EPA Tier III and EU stage 3A emissions requirements.

Special features of the D375A-6 include:

• Productivity Performance

The D375A-6 has increased net engine output by 85 to 610 hp (63.4 to 455 kW) at 1,800 rpm. Fuel consumption is reduced through an automatic transmission with lockup torque converter. The use of Komatsu’s electronic powertrain control system results in a more efficient drawbar pull. An updated Full-U 28.8 cu. yd. (22 cu m) blade provides increased production without increasing blade width or reducing digging force. The blade shape is similar to the next-size-class-larger Komatsu dozer, the D475A-5EO, and the overall-dozing capability is increased without compromising visibility or balance.

• Operator Enhancements

The large multi-lingual user-friendly LCD (liquid crystal display) multi-color monitor provides operators with the information they need to perform their work efficiently and accurately. Screen visibility at various angles and lighting conditions is improved with the use of TFT (thin film transistor).

Komatsu-designed function keys enable multi-function operations. Various meters, gauges and warning functions are centrally arranged for simple start-up, inspection and prompt warning of any abnormalities. An easy-to-read “eco gauge” is displayed on the right side of the multi-monitor screen. When operating in an energy saving mode, the operator simply operates the machine with the eco gauge in the green range.

• KOMTRAX Plus

The D375A-6 is equipped with KOMTRAX Plus (former VHMS) technology, which sends machine operating information to a secure Web site utilizing wireless technology. Without any additional IT expense, data such as operating hours, component trends, machine utilization (including idle time and fuel consumption) and production information are relayed to the web application and made available on-line for analysis. In real time, the KOMTRAX Plus fleet monitoring system monitors machine availability, allows for remote diagnosis of machine issues, and provides a wealth of other information to drive business efficiency.

• Mining Specification Options

New mining specification options available direct from the factory include: HID work lights; centralized grease points for blade and ripper; rear view camera; fast fuel fill; manual engine stop switches; concentrated oil and coolant sample ports and service drains; battery isolator box; high mounted lights and additional front and rear cab lighting; and a full platform package.
