Ditch Witch of Ohio, Western Pa. & Western N.Y., recently held open house events at its facilities in Columbus, Ohio and Cranberry Township, Pa., to introduce equipment. The all-day new equipment rodeo featured a wide range of new equipment including new directional drills and TK trackers, new mini-skid steers, trenchers, vacuum excavators and locators.

At the Columbus event, Roger Lipscomb, president and executive director of Ohio Utilities Protection Service conducted a session on House Bill 458, a new law designed to improve Ohio’s current damage prevention regulations through enhanced communications and cooperation among stakeholders.

As well as an opportunity to watch Ditch Witch’s new lineup of equipment in action, attendees were treated to lunch and door prizes.

Matt DiIorio, who served as the dealership’s general manager for the past five years, recently took ownership of the dealership. As the previous owner of a New Holland dealership in northern Illinois, DiIorio gained experience that will serve him well in this new venture. DiIorio sold his dealership in Illinois to become associate vice president of Associated Equipment Distributors.

DiIorio’s acquisition of Ditch Witch of Ohio, Western Pa. & Western N.Y., , is the culmination of an agreement worked out with Charles Machine Works, manufacturers of Ditch Witch when he signed on with the company in 2008. Ditch Witch has been extraordinary to work with throughout the process and he’s proud and excited to represent the lines, he said. Ditch Witch imposes stringent demands on its dealerships to ensure high standards in sales and service are maintained, adding that this approach fit well with his own personal business philosophy, according to DiIorio.

In the five years since DiIorio took over management of the dealership, it has grown by 50 percent. Three years ago, DiIorio oversaw the move from its previous location in Columbus to its new facility which is just off Interstate 70. While much more accessible to its clients, the intent was to provide the dealership better positioning to get to its customers.
