Case Construction Equipment’s Tier IV Interim DV209 and DV210 high frequency asphalt compactors represent the addition of two new models to Case’s high frequency double-drum models, giving road builders more control and versatility to dial compaction performance to match the thickness and required density of each lift. The machines also are equipped with new, high-efficiency Tier IV Interim engines (Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation + Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) with automatic idle control systems to improve fuel efficiency by as much as 10 percent compared to previous models. With operating weights of 21,030 and 22,730 lbs. (9,539 and 10,310 kg), respectively, and a standard drum width of just more than 66 in. (167 cm) on both machines, the DV209 and DV210 are sized to suit most mid-size and large road projects.
New features also include more maneuverability in the operator compartment for greater visibility, a new color monitor and operator interface, and optional ACEforce asphalt compaction technologies that help provide precise measurement over varying asphalt conditions. Both machines feature large water and fuel tanks to allow the machine to work all day without fill-up, maximizing productivity.
The Power of High Frequency
The new DV209 and DV210 feature a frequency range of 42 to 55 hertz standard and 46 to 67 hertz high frequency. This higher frequency range gives operators control over compaction performance based on the thickness and density requirements of the lift. When combined with variable amplitude settings (.22 to .6 mm on the DV209, .33 to .6 mm on the DV210), these machines can be dialed in to better handle thinner lifts (low amplitude/high frequency) and thicker lifts (high amplitude/low frequency). Centrifugal force also can be dialed in (15,736 to 21,582 lbs. on the DV209, 17,535 to 26,977 lbs. on the DV210) to best match the thickness of the lift and the desired depth of compaction.
New Operator Station and Environment Improve Comfort and Control
The new and spacious operator environment found on the DV209 and DV210 includes features designed to give operators better visibility to the work and easier control through intelligently placed controls and monitors. A new operator station that is capable of turning and sliding through the entire width of the cab gives the operator visibility to the drum surfaces and edges, as well as the spraying bars. Large front and rear mirrors (with optional enclosed cab configuration) help ensure optimal visibility.
The new DV209 and DV210 also feature a color monitor conveniently located in the center of the steering wheel to give operators easy access to important operational information, as well as controls for speed, frequency, vibration and sprinkler adjustments. The monitor stays in the same position, even when the steering wheel is rotating, for easy reading and control.
Intelligent Compaction
Both the DV209 and DV210 are compatible with optional ACEforce asphalt compaction technology. ACEforce is a compaction management and documentation system that provides precise measurement and evaluation of material stiffness, and allows for continuous adjustment of speed, frequency and amplitude depending on compaction measurement. This improves compaction efficiency by assisting in completing the job in as few passes as possible, and helps minimize the risk of over compaction and material destruction. It also features ADS documentation software for analyzing historical results/performance, and is compatible with mapping and operator guidance technologies from Topcon, Trimble and Leica.
The Standard for Serviceability and Management
Service points on the DV209 and DV210 are easily accessible from the ground through large side doors, and filling and draining points for service fluids are centralized for easy and fast change.
Both models also are compatible with the Case SiteWatch telematics system, which helps equipment owners better manage maintenance, equipment utilization, operator performance, equipment security and overall production.
