Responding to the increased demand for services and fitting its corporate expansion plans, Bar None Auction recently opened a new auction yard location in Phoenix, Ariz. Located at 4025 W. Lower Buckeye Road, the space spans 20 acres with approximately $100,000 being invested in the initial set-up. It is the former Manheim Auto Auction yard and additional upgrades will continue over the coming months.
The yard features ample onsite parking, business offices, and easy access to I-10 and I-17, providing buyers better opportunities to inspect and preview the inventory. In addition, it has a large receiving and transporting area that allows sellers to minimize their unload times and maximize the exposure of their inventory.
"The staff and I are quite excited and proud to be moving to our new location," said Chad Placido, general manager of the Phoenix facility. "We’re certain this expansion will enhance our service levels and help us continue our growth in the entire Southwest. Our customers are going to love the auction yard and we’re anxious to show it off."
Bar None Auction Hires New GM for Southwest Expansion
Bar None Auction has hired veteran heavy equipment and commercial truck professional, Chad Placido, to be the new general manager of its Southwest Region, encompassing Arizona, Utah and New Mexico, including their newest permanent auction yard located in Phoenix, Ariz.
During the past 15 years, Placido has honed his expertise working with some of the most recognizable brands in the industry including John Deere, JCB, Yale and Komatsu in sales and operations management.
Bar None Auction’s ongoing commitment to excellence is displayed in the addition of Placido and he officially began his duties right before the holidays in 2013, according to the company.
Southwest Region Responds to Rapid Growth, Adds Key Member to Sales Staff
In response to the growing demand for its services in the Southwest Region, Bar None Auction has named Patrick McAvoy as a territory sales representative. McAvoy has strong business development and analytical skills developed from his time in the mortgage, asset management and security services industries.
McAvoy is located in Phoenix and will be working with clients throughout the three state region of Utah, New Mexico and Arizona.
"Patrick is a fantastic individual and a great addition to our staff. We are especially pleased to add a military and public service veteran to our team," said Merrill Atwater, vice president of business development. "He’s already hit the ground running in his territory and is doing a fantastic job."
New Phoenix Yard Holds Auction, Clears $1.1M in Sales
A large selection of inventory and an enthusiastic crop of bidders helped Bar None Auction’s new Phoenix location make its first auction on March 17 a success. More $1.1 million in inventory was purchased by 207 bidders online and on site. The 219 lots from 16 unique consignors went to 43 unique buyers located in 29 states, including Puerto Rico, and 9 countries, including Canada, Mexico, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Bar None also welcomed 98 brand new bidders to the Bar None Auction family and its first bidder from Italy.
A 2009 John Deere 624K wheel loader was the largest purchase of the day at $64,000 and the largest single buyer came from our onsite bidders, acquiring more than $110,000 in inventory. The available inventory was enhanced by a terrific package of rental equipment from Sunbelt, Volvo and Neff worth almost $300,000 in sales.
Bar None’s next Phoenix auction date has been set for Saturday, May 17. Consignments are now being accepted for this sale as well as auctions in Sacramento, Calif.; San Bernardino, Calif.; and Portland, Ore.
