JCB is to offer an energy master kit for five telescopic handler models from 9,000 lb. to 16,000 lb. (4,082 to 7,257 kg) lift capacities with working heights of 42 ft. to 56 ft. (12.8 to 17 m). Designed specifically to meet the requirements of the oil and gas industries, the energy master specification brings together a host of new options that are demanded by energy industry contractors.

The energy master specification can be ordered on the 509-42, 510-56, 512-56 and 514-56 Loadalls and the new 516-42 model. Customers can tailor the specification to their individual needs, with a single lever control joystick, lighting options including high intensity LED work lights on the front and rear of the cab, on the boom, on the rear chassis and for peripheral visibility, a mechanical tow hitch, a lifting shackle and a beacon. In addition, the energy master package includes cab and externally-mounted fire extinguishers.

JCB also will offer a spark arrestor and the company currently is seeking approval for a positive air shut-off valve. To avoid costly downtime for accidental breakages, a steel lower door section for the cab can be provided, along with mesh screens for machines with a canopy. There also are auxiliary relief valves to protect the lifting chains.

The energy master kit has been produced following extensive consultation with customers in the oil and gas industries, for whom maximum uptime is an essential requirement. The kit delivers increased safety and ease-of-use on the job site, ensuring maximum productivity and uptime for the telescopic machine. With more than 2,000 drilling rigs working throughout the North American market, there is increasing demand for a high-capacity telescopic handler that delivers market-leading levels of safety, ease-of-use and high performance.
