Construction One Inc. and American Eagle Outfitters recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of an American Eagle Outfitters store built by a U.S. based contractor in Mexico.
The 8,000 sq. ft. store at Plaza Galerias Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico is Construction One’s first store completed across the border.
Construction One has strategically been planning this move over the past several years. Building in Canada for more than 10 years, Construction One was ready to move into Mexico as a registered construction company.
“We have been an established construction company in Canada for many years and I thought getting the company set up in Mexico would be a similar process, but it turned out to be a much more complicated task,” said Controller Chris Moberger. “Thankfully Construction One had all the right people on our side to guide us through the process without a hitch.”
February 2013 marked that milestone as Construction One is now licensed to operate in Mexico.
After the prolonged legalities and licensing paperwork, the project has moved forward. The quick pace of the project is largely attributed to Construction One’s Mexico Branch Manager, Alejandro Martinez, who effectively handled communication between the mall owner and construction team. Once construction was under way, it was only a matter of weeks before this first of its kind project was completed.
Construction One performed all of the construction management services for the new store.
