More than 1,260 registered guests attended the open house events Walsh Equipment held as a way of thanking its customers from throughout a 31 county market area in western and central Pennsylvania. The events, held at the company’s headquarters in Prospect, Pa., consisted of three sessions beginning on the afternoon of Oct. 2, followed by a session that evening and wrapping up with another session on Oct. 3.

The events featured static equipment displays, the JCB dancing digger backhoe show, a skid steer rodeo and breakout training sessions covering Tier IV emissions, a truck up-fitting roundtable discussion and a safety and maintenance presentation for Tiger roadside mowers. Manufacturer representatives from all equipment lines on display were on hand to assist Walsh Equipment employees and were available for question and answer opportunities

A big attraction throughout the events was the appearance of LeeBoy-sponsored race team driver, Quain Stott, along with his pro-modified 1964 Corvette. Attendees also enjoyed a pig roast served during all the sessions and had the opportunity to win a pair of Pittsburgh Steelers tickets at the skid steer rodeo.

In business for more than 80 years, Walsh Equipment is headed by company President Mike Walsh and Vice President Charlie Walsh, who represent the second and third generation of family management.

In addition to its headquarters, the dealership also operates a branch location in central Pennsylvania, which opened on April 9, 2012.

Walsh Equipment Company is a full-line JCB dealer; the company’s other lines include J & J Truck Bodies & Equipment, LeeBoy, Rosco, Schwarze street sweepers and Tiger mowers. On Sept. 23, 2013, the dealership was named the Western snowplows and spreaders distributor of central Pennsylvania.
