Mr. Smock was born July 10, 1948 in Waukegan, Ill., and was a former Carmel resident from 1975 until moving to Noblesville in 1987.

He enjoyed the past eight winters in Mesa, Ariz., with his wife and family, quad riding in the mountains and playing golf in the “Geezer League.” He loved building fences and his work projects around his farm. The great joy of his life was his granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Debi (Tess) Smock, whom he married on Nov. 10, 1973 in Burlington, Wis.; two children, MacKenzie Tess (husband, Ron) Shreve and Nic (wife, Samantha) Smock; granddaughter, Molly Hazel Smock all of Noblesville; two sisters, Sandy (husband, Jack) Mather of Edgewood, Iowa, Chris Lancour of Greenfield, Wis., and half-sister, Beverly Hinsenbrock of Clermont, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.

In recognition of Mr. Smock's passion for Rock Church, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Rock Church Assembly of God, 6501 S. SR 67, Pendleton, Ind. 46064.
