LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a broken water main has flooded part of the Las Vegas Strip.

A Las Vegas Valley Water District spokesman told the Las Vegas Sun (http://bit.ly/19cs78s ) that a contractor working on a construction project struck the pipeline Wednesday morning.

Two northbound lanes between Tropicana and Harmon avenues are closed as a result.

The agency says nearby resorts and commercial properties including the MGM Grand and Monte Carlo both owned by MGM Resorts would get their water from another water line.

The agency warns customers online that they may have little or no water pressure while crews work to fix the pipeline. The agency was not certain when water service would return.
