VIDEO: Construction Worker Rescued From Sewer Hole

The worker fell about 17 feet down a 20-foot hole.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A construction worker in Salt Lake City is recovering from minor injuries after he fell backward into a sewer hole.

KSL-TV reports ( http://bit.ly/1JgNPSV ) that the man was working around 9 a.m. Tuesday about 17 feet down a 20-foot hole when he fell backward about three feet to the bottom.

Salt Lake fire spokesman Jasen Asay says the man briefly lost consciousness and hurt his back and knee.

Fire crews, members of the Air National Guard and the Salt Lake City International Airport pulled the man out with a basket they lowered into the hole.

He was transported to a local hospital in fair condition.
