Construction Equipment Guide

The Terex Pegson 428 Trakpactor is a track-mounted, fixed-hammer horizontal impact crusher with a 42 by 28 in. (106 by 71 cm) feed opening. The plant is designed for crushing aggregates and concrete/asphalt rubble. Two full-size and two half-size standard manganese blow bars are fitted as standard. The plant crushes up to 400 tons (363 t) per hour with a 20 to 1 reduction ratio.

The unit uses a variable-speed 12.5 ft. by 42 in. (3.8 m by 107 cm) grizzly feeder. The fixed, hardox steel hopper is 13.2 by 6.9 ft. (4 by 2.1 m) with a capacity up to 5 cu. yds. (3.8 cu m) gross, depending on feed method. The 39 in. (99 cm) wide on-plant product conveyor uses a troughed belt with fixed tail end and discharges at a height of 10.8 ft. (3.3 m).

It has a suspended, self-cleaning magnet. Canvas removeable dust covers are fitted at the head end beyond the magnet area. The 24 in. (61 cm) wide on-plant side dirt conveyor folds hydraulically for travel. The plant is 7.6 ft. (2.3 m) wide, 11.4 ft. (3.5 m) high, and weighs 77,000 lbs. (34,900 kg).

Dust suppression is provided by spray bars with atomizer nozzles mounted over the impactor discharge point and the product conveyor head. All drives, flywheels, pulleys and couplings have wire mesh or sheet metal guards. The powerpack is a 300-hp (223.6 kW), six-cylinder Caterpillar C-9.

Options include high manganese or high chrome blow bars, four full-size blow bars in lieu of two full and two half-size, and a single idler belt weigher with integrator and speed-sensing wheel fitted to the main product conveyor.
