Hydrema has announced that the Thompson CAT Rental Store has been appointed the authorized dealer for Hydrema in the state of Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. In addition, Blanchard Machinery has been appointed the dealer for South Carolina.

Both dealers have become the authorized distributor of the Hydrema 912HM model, which fills a niche machine offering and provides tremendous off-road accessibility, side dumping capabilities and low ground pressure, according to the manufacturer.

According to Hydrema, the key point of the performance of the 912HM is the articulated pivot steer chassis. The center pivot and hydraulic stabilizers keep the machine stable and safe by automatically transferring the weight where it is needed. The chassis ensures that all wheels constantly track in the same path to reduce rolling resistance and the standard twin tires offer additional traction with minimum ground damage. The centrally placed pivot increases maneuverability with a low turning radius and better positioning characteristics. The 912DS and the 912HM comes standard with a completely new suspension system for extraordinary comfort. It has the same Perkins engine and ZF transmission as the Hydrema 912DS model, with 131 hp (97.6 kW) and a six-speed transmission.

The new relationship between Hydrema and Thompson CAT Rental Stores came about, Sales Manager, Jeff Pope explained, “When we started looking at Hydrema simply from a rental aspect. Hydrema had some machines out on rent in our local market and asked us to maintain the trucks. We performed the required service and had the chance to take a good look at them at work on a job site. We really liked what we saw, so we quickly got back with Kevin (O’Donnell of Hydrema). We could envision that the product could add value to our rental fleet, as well as value to our sales efforts as a new machine dealer.”

Jimmy Tew, Thompson CAT Rental Stores’ operations manager added, “It’s a differentiated product that we can sell or rent to our customers that our competitors don’t offer, they are well-built products with unique features. That’s what drove us to Hydrema. The machines are relatively easy from a service standpoint. Since we had already performed service work on Hydrema machines, we had acquired extensive experience with them before we even took on the line. Serviceability is terrific on these machines.”

Representatives from Blanchard Machinery also are pleased to be working with Hydrema to bring more value to their customers.

“We are very excited about the partnership with Hydrema,” stated Joel Reynolds, Blanchard’s heavy construction sales manager. “The partnership will allow us to offer an additional option to our customers working in specialized applications.”

Thompson’s customers can find sales, service, parts and rentals at eight locations of The Thompson CAT Rental Stores in the state of Alabama and at the Pensacola, Fla., location in the Florida Panhandle. Blanchard Machinery’s sales-service-parts and rentals of Hydrema products are available to customers through the company’s 14 locations throughout the state of South Carolina.

Founded in 1959, A/S Hydrema is a modern, international group of companies, which develops, manufactures and markets earthmoving equipment. The main factory and head office are located in the north of Denmark.
