Kioti Tractor, located in the Raleigh suburb of Wendell, N.C., recently hosted a top management team from Daedong Industrial Company Ltd. of Seoul, South Korea, parent company of the North American tractor company.

With Kioti continuing to gain North American market share and sales volume year after year, the visit was designed to discuss market trends, continued growth and expanded plans to help support promotional and sales efforts. Development of new products for the North American markets also were discussed.

Heading up the group from South Korea were the president of Daedong Industrial Company, J.S. Kim; Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Young Kyun Jin; Sales Director Dong Kim and Director of Planning and Coordination Soo-Chul Park.

Punctuating the Daedong/Kioti commitment to the North American organization and its ever-growing network of dealers, the group first visited Mid-Carolina Turf and Equipment, a local Kioti dealership located in Sanford, N.C. Chris Wilder, president of Mid-Carolina Turf and Equipment hosted the group and directed a tour of his facility. Here, the group received a first-hand look at a typical, aggressive North American Kioti dealership, visiting their showroom, business areas and parts and service departments.

The group then took a comprehensive tour of Kioti’s Wendell headquarters from the reception desk to the loading docks and business offices, receiving updates on recent improvements along the way. The tour ended in the reception area with the presentation of a bust of Sam-Man Kim (June 19, 1912 – Aug. 9, 1975), the founder of Daedong Industrial Company. Kim was the visionary force behind the creation of Daedong and its quality line of farm tractors and other agricultural and construction machinery. His creative drive positively impacted the development of the agricultural industry as well as the Daedong/Kioti organizations in South Korea, North America and around the world.

Following the tour, the Kioti North American management team hosted a dinner for their visitors from Daedong. During that dinner, JS Kim, president of Daedong Industrial, addressed the attendees.

“It is a great honor today to have dinner with all of you, especially, Mike Greene, Mike Boucher and Peter Kim for the leadership roles you now fill at Kioti North America. Daedong Industrial appreciates you and your commitment to Daedong-USA.

“We have incredible opportunities ahead of us with enormous potential globally. Daedong’s success today is not a dream, it is a reality. Innovation has been Daedong’s culture since our founder started the journey back in 1947 from a small city in Korea. I am committed to continuing this culture of innovation. I will continue to invest in the development of new products to help Daedong continue its growth and become a global leader.”
